Hey, y’all!
Thanks for subscribing to the Anonymous Crowdfund newsletter. I’m Lenée (she/ her). You’ve probably seen me on the internet somewhere, raising money for folks in need. This newsletter is my updated version of the crowdfunding tweets and IG posts you may have seen from me in the past. I decided to give email a shot, because I find that it’s a lot easier to burn myself out if I’m constantly searching social media for people to help. This inaugural bulletin features 4 people in need of financial support. I have a brief summary of each person’s situation, their deadlines, and the ways to pitch in. All of these listings are time-sensitive. We have folks in immediate need of help. Y’all ready? Let’s go!

Keep a Black queer man housed!
MC still hasn’t gotten his unemployment. We helped him stay housed and fed in June; he still hasn’t gotten any word about his money. His landlord has started harassing him about late rent payments. MC needs $900 to take care of his rent, due August 1. You can write #anonymouscrowdfund on the memo line, or “for MC.”

Keep a student housed!
ZO is the student of a close friend of mine. He’s been out of work since March because of COVID-19 and has gone unhoused twice in the last 4 months as a result. ZO hasn’t been able to secure any work because he lacks a wardrobe and funds for transport. He’s managed to get himself into a short term housing situation, but he needs a boost until he either gets approved for unemployment or finds steady work. ZO needs $1500, which includes rent, toiletries, food, and transportation to any interviews he can get. When you make your donation, drop ☂️ or “MG sent me” on the memo line.
Deadline: August 2, 2020
CashApp: $ZakHart
ZO doesn’t have Venmo; if you would like to send something for him through me, please use the umbrella emoji or “for ZO” on the memo line.

Help a Black family secure a new home after eviction proceedings!
Mercy’s landlord has been permitted to evict her and her kids, despite courts having been closed for months now. There’s been no rental relief or anything of the sort for them. Mercy and her kids have to vacate by August 3; they can still get to a new place before the eviction goes on Mercy’s credit report. While we’re dismantling capitalism, please help this Black single mom and her babies get to their next home. You may remember Mercy’s campaign from this past June; she’s leaning on us again because she truly has no other option. She needs $3,000 to secure a home. Please be so kind as to circulate widely! When you send your donation, use #careforblackfamilies or 🦀 on the memo line.

Help a Black single mom move herself and her kid out of a dangerous living situation!
Nicole and her daughter need to get out of an abusive home ASAP. The abuse has taken a toll on both of their mental health. Nicole has a work-from-home job, but she’s unable to take on more hours specifically because her workspace is an abusive person’s home. She’s asking for $3300 for an apartment (first month, last month, and security) and $2500 to get herself a new car. She’s been threatened repeatedly with being kicked out, and it does not seem that her abuser is going to leave her be. $5800 is her total ask; I’m prioritizing her need for an apartment deposit. When you donate, use #careforblackfamilies or 🌻 on the memo line!
Deadline: ongoing; housing deposit takes priority to get her into a safe home ASAP.

Thank you for reading and sharing this lil newsletter of mine. I appreciate each one of you.
